Walter Peavy

Walter Peavy

Senior Pastor

Pastor and Faithful Servant after God’s own heart, Walter Peavy recognized his calling as minister at the age of eighteen. In November 1966, serving as the CEO, he founded a non-profit ministry, Love Alive, which has been going strong for more than twenty-nine years.


Pastor Walter Peavy’s ministry encompasses many areas, including a gospel radio DJ, a radio announcer, a pastor, and chief executive officer of Love Alive Ministries. He began radio ministry at WEUP radio station in 1971. WBHP, WTAK-AM & FM, WVOV, WEUP and WDJL 1000 were other radio stations via which he shared the gospel with hundreds of thousands of listeners across the Tennessee Valley, and for 50+ years has stayed ready and willing to promote the community and deliver current events through radio.


He was a student, President, and Vice President of Huntsville Bible College, where he received his Associate and B.A. Degree in Pastoral Ministry on May 14, 2000. Peavy was an honor roll student at Huntsville Bible College. Peavy was recognized in 2006 and 2008 across the land as being the Top gospel radio announcer. Pastor Walter Peavy was awarded, The Living Legend Award of 2022. He was highlighted for his work as an advocate for seniors, and the poor whom he loves. He is a fighter for equality rights for God’s people.


He has received over 200 awards for years of dedication, loyalty, and commitment--a man of God who has demonstrated leadership, service, and commitment in nourishing the spiritual lives of the Tennessee Valley communities. Through the airwaves of radio, he has reached and continues to reach the unreachable and touch lives through prayer, sermon, gospel music, and announcements. Over the years, he has produced music and music artists.


Under Love Alive, Pastor Walter Peavy is CEO & Founder of other ministries, Love Alive After Five, Caravan of Love, Ministries on the Move (MOM), XL 1000 Gospel Studio. He is Senior Pastor of Love Alive Non-Denominational Church.


Setting the balance between ministry and being a husband to his lovely wife Pauline Peavy, he is a father of four and nine grands. He comes to us with remarkable pastoral experience, gifts in building relational community, a missional heart, and a love for the Lord which is foundational to how he ministers.

Pastor Joe C. Kelly

Senior Associate Pastor

Pastor Joe Kelly was born and raised in the Baltimore Hill community, which is located north of Huntsville, Alabma. He attended the former Farmer’s Capital, Mt. Lebanon, and Council Training High Schools. He also attended John C. Calhoun Community College and J.F. Drake State Technical School. He formed a business known as Kelly’s Tire Service in 1974, which later became Kelly’s Truck Tire Service. His tire repair service was the second black-owned service in the city of Huntsville at the time. After working thirty-nine years with his business, he retired and is currently employed at Best One Tire & Service located in Huntsville.


Pastor Kelly served on the Trustee Board and Steward Board, and as an usher and church treasurer for many years at Acklin Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church located in the Berkley community. He accepted his call to ministry in 2010; he was licensed and later ordained, becoming a member of the Huntsville District, North Central Alabama Region of the CME church. He was appointed pastor at Acklin CME Church in 2014, and pastored faithfully and diligently for ten years. Pastor Kelly was elected Pastor of the Year by the North Alabama Southern Tennessee Gospel Choice Music Awards and is the first inductee in its Hall of Fame. He also worked with the Commissioner of District 5 assisting with upgrading homes in the Berkley community in the early eighties. Presently, he donates regularly to several charitable organizations, specifically, the homeless in the Huntsville area.


He is known at Acklin and throughout the Berkley community for aiding wherever needed and as a frequent visitator to those who are sick and shut in. Also, his members are constant recipients of his good sense of humor. 


He is married to the former Penelope “Penny” Wade, and they are parents of two daughters and have six grandchildren.

Elder Daryl Eady, Jr.

Elder Daryl Eady, Jr.

Senior Associate Pastor

Kenneth Daryl Eady Jr. is from the great city of Winchester, Tennessee.  Elder Eady is a humble servant of God with a passion for preaching and teaching. He accepted his call to ministry at sixteen under the late Elder Royce Hill in the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Association and was ordained in 2013 under Pastor Johnny Jones. 


He is a devoted husband to Ruby Humphrey Eady and a proud father of six children—three in heaven and three beautiful daughters who bring him joy! The BWC is honored to have Elder Eady as part of our pastoral team!

Jimmy Heathington

Senior Associate Pastor

Pastor Jimmy L. Heathington, Jr., was born and raised in Berkley Alabama, located in Gurley, Alabama. In his younger years, he attended Owen’s Cross Middle School, New Hope High School, and Madison County Technical Training School. He also attended J. F. Drake Technical College, Phillips Junior College, and Huntsville Bible College with a Diploma in Biblical Studies.


He worked at Huntsville Manufacturing, H.D. Lee Blue Jean Manufacturing Co., Burger King, Auto Zone, and the Department of Corrections. He worked as a Correctional Officer 1 for 36 years and presently works there part-time after retiring in 2014. He was also in the United States Army Reserves and served for 9 years.


Pastor Heathington served on Steward Board, as a Choir Present, a Sunday School Superintendent, and a Musician at Acklin Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church for many years. He also served as Associate Pastor and Musician at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hollywood, Alabama.


He accepted his call to the ministry in 2002, and was licensed. He became a member of the Huntsville District, North Central Alabama region of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and he served faithfully and diligently. He is married to the former Nancy Bradley, and they have two sons (Jamal, and Jimmy lll) and a daughter (Aaliyah).

Manuel Moore

Brother Manuel Moore was born and raised in Madison Alabama at 1342 Balch Road. He attended West Madison Elementary School, and Monrovia Elementary School in his younger years. He attended Sparkman High School and graduated in the year 1984. From there, at the age of 17, he went into the military and served in the Army Reserve. He also attended Drake Technical College for a year and Calhoun Community College for a year. 


Brother Moore has served as the Minister of Music for Acklin CME Church, of Gurley, Alabama, since June of 1998, and is presently there for twenty-seven plus years. Before that, at the age of fifteen years old, he started playing for Bethlehem P.B. church in Greenbriar, Alabama, doing so for approximately ten years. Brother Moore also played at St. Mark P.B. church in Huntsville,  Alabama for eleven years.


Collaborating with other musicians and vocalists to create new music, Brother Moore is available for live recording sessions on an as-needed basis.  He frequently rehearses with choirs, ensembles, groups, and solo singers, with responsibility to prepare choirs, groups and soloists for rehearsals which includes studying songs and arrangements of what will be best for worship and other programs. 


He was required to show strong ability to deal with personality conflicts and musical dilemmas by always being encouraging and honest. Furthermore, he has assisted with music in other areas or services, as needed. 


Brother Moore has worked for S&V Down Home Cooking Restaurant & catering starting in December of 2003, working as the Manager Chef. Also, he worked at LG Electronics, Huntsville Al Jan 2005-Oct-2007 as a production worker, and he worked at Courtyard Marriott, Huntsville Al as a Front Desk clerk/Bus Driver. Brother Moore is married to Shelia Wilson Moore of Gurley, Al and has one son, Collin E'amon Moore. I am one of God's chosen one’s and Love Him with all my heart. It's my right and duty to serve Him a give Him what's rightfully His in which He deserves.
